The jewelry pieces in
the Eden Collection offer meaningful and special gifts for high
school and college graduates, young women celebrating a Bat Mitzvah,
college graduates seeking and beginning their first job, women who
are changing career positions, or for any girls learning to make the
right decisions.
Each piece of jewelry
in the Eden Collection features a special message in Hebrew. Judging
others favorably is one of Judaism’s most powerful
commandments. Literally translated, Dan li’kaf zechut,דו
לכף זכות, means “Judge
to the side of merit.”
This mitzvah in the
Torah teaches us the similar message as the Wise
Monkeys. If we do not see evil in others when we judge them, we
will not speak negatively about them. Avoiding evil talk
(lashon hara) is another warning in the Torah. These two lessons guide us in
developing the character traits to which Judaism challenges us to
aspire.
By "Judging
others favorably" we choose to see the merit in the actions of
others. In making the choice to Just Do
What’s Right, we follow the teachings of the Torah
and concentrate on the positive.
The Eden Collection is
named for the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil that originally
taught us good from evil, right from wrong. My mother, Edith,
taught me to Just Do
What’s Right. It is to her with great love
and admiration I dedicate The Eden Collection.
